The Strategic Account Manager, Pets is responsible to drive sales growth through enhanced corporate partner relationships with the regional offices and clinic levels of the selected corporate partner. The SAM responsibilities include strategy execution for BI and clinic category revenue growth through product placements, increased veterinarian recommendation and pet owner compliance. This role is responsible for delivering sales targets and collaborating with the US Pet Vet Sales and Corporate Partnership Teams.

The Strategic Account Manager, Pets participates in a team-selling environment. In this capacity, the SAM will assume the lead role for their assigned corporate regional management and through extensive collaboration and communication with assigned PSV(s) and/or other support teams. In this role, the incumbent will drive the identification and qualification of new growth and execution opportunities between the corporate partner and BIAH.

Duties & Responsibilities

Account Management:

  • Responsible for implementation and execution of customer business plans strategy through the regional and clinic level(s) of the corporate partner (account).
  • Assists in the development of an extensive knowledge base of all assigned account(s) including their business profile, key players, competition, business and financial processes, culture, technology footprint, compelling events, political environment and strategies.
  • Expands and strengthens BIAH’s presence by establishing proactive relationships at the regional corporate account level with decision-makers, recommender’s and influencer’s, both within the customer and other third parties of influence.
  • Proactively works with PSV(s) and other regional and district field sales members to grow/defend BIAH business position through education programs and product marketing initiatives.

Opportunity Management:

  • Identifies, pursues and closes new sales opportunities through the successful execution of CBP.
  • Wins new business within the regional and local level of the account(s) by developing, communicating and driving effective selling strategies that are based on executing the identified customer-specific mutual value propositions.
  • Routinely discusses and communicates opportunity plan sales strategy with other members of the account team, as well as BIAH business management and the employee’s direct manager.
  • Communicates and delivers pricing, promotions and new product launch information to the regional management of the corporate account(s).

Account Team Engagement:

  • Participates in internal account team meetings and communicate with other account team members as well as serves as liaison between the District Sales Teams and the Corporate Partnership to ensure successful execution of strategy at all levels of the account.
  • Establishes link to training of existing and new Corporate Partnership hospitals based on account assignment and geography.
  • Provides field intelligence and analysis of competitive actions/programs, acceptance/impact of programs, and general industry activities to the account team and US Commercial business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant field sales experience in a competitive selling environment with a minimum of three to five (3-5) years in animal health preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, collaboration and analytical skills along with the ability to use mobile applications.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnight travel).
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record to drive a company leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Compensation: This position offers a base salary typically between $120K and $188K. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.  For an overview of our benefits please click here.
